Greetings! My name is Woodley Stewart, and I proudly hail from the vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam in Guyana. As a dedicated labourer, I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside some of the hardest-working individuals in our community, where we share stories, laughter, and the occasional plate of pepperpot or cook-up rice. There’s something truly special about coming together over dishes that reflect our mixed heritage, combining influences from our Indigenous, African, and Indo-Guyanese roots.
Guyana is a place of rich history and breathtaking natural beauty, from the lush landscapes of the Essequibo River to the iconic Kaieteur Falls. There’s always chatter about the unique aspects of our culture, whether it’s the pronunciation of our local place names or the new developments in our growing oil industry.
