Welcome! I’m Yasmin Singh, a proud teacher hailing from the beautiful Fleece Essequibo Coast in Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. Although we may not be an island, our vibrant culture and community spirit make us an integral part of the Caribbean. I believe that education is not just about imparting knowledge; it’s about nurturing the next generation to appreciate our rich heritage, from the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River to the diverse traditions that shape our identity.
Growing up in Guyana, I cherish the flavors of our cuisine, whether it’s the hearty pepperpot that warms our hearts during special occasions or the fresh fruits that fill our markets. Each dish tells a story, much like the folk tales shared under the starlit sky. I also hold dear the connections we share with our diaspora communities, especially those in Trinidad and beyond, where we celebrate our roots and maintain our cultural bonds through music, festivals, and shared experiences.
