Welcome! I’m Yugul Charritar, a proud resident of E½ 5 Sans Souci in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Nestled among lush landscapes and vibrant communities, my roots are deeply intertwined with this country’s rich heritage. From the bustling markets of Georgetown to the serene banks of the Essequibo River, I am constantly inspired by the warmth of our people and the flavors of our traditional dishes, like pepperpot and cook-up rice that bring everyone together.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I hold dear the connections we share, both at home and abroad. I often reflect on comments from fellow Caribbean voices, celebrating our vibrant culture and diversity. We stand together as a community, whether it’s through local festivals, such as Mashramani, or through global gatherings that remind us of our shared identity. Like many, I recognize the stories of resilience—be it the Christian caring for orphans or the families thriving across the river, such as in River Grant and Massarie Island.
In my daily life, I strive to embody the spirit of Guyana. I cherish engaging with neighbors and sharing tales of our beloved land while nurturing connections that span continents. Guyana is more than just a place on the map; it’s a part of who I am, and I’m excited to share my journey with you.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
