Greetings! My name is Yumesh, but you can call me H Yabindranaut. I’m a proud painter based in the vibrant community of East Bank Essequibo, specifically at Parika. Growing up in the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I have always found inspiration in the rich natural beauty that surrounds us—from the winding rivers to the vibrant flora. My work reflects the colors and spirit of Guyana, deeply rooted in its culture and heritage.
As a Guyanese, I cherish our strong ties within the Caribbean community, being part of CARICOM alongside our neighbors like Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. This connection plays a significant role in my artistic expression, as I often draw from the stories and experiences shared within our diaspora. I find joy in painting scenes that not only celebrate our local landmarks, such as Kairimap Creek and the bustling markets in Georgetown, but also honor the cultural influences that shape our identity, like the rich flavors of pepper pot and roti that remind us of home.
Through my art, I aim to create a dialogue that connects us all, whether we are in Guyana or abroad.
