Hello! I’m Zaheer Hassan, a proud Guyanese labourer based in the vibrant Demerara region, specifically at Rampersaud Street. Growing up in this multi-ethnic community has filled my life with rich experiences influenced by our diverse culture. From the rhythmic beats of our music during Mashramani to the mouthwatering flavors of pepperpot and cook-up rice that grace our tables, each moment is a reminder of the warmth and resilience of our people.

While I work hard to support my community and family, I am always eager to share stories about my homeland. Many might not know that Guyana is not just about the lush rainforests and the majestic Kaieteur Falls, but also about the deep connections we maintain with our diaspora. Our rich history is reflected in the lively conversations we have about our local rivers, like the Kamadankuro and Arota Island, which are vital to our culture and identity. As someone who has witnessed both the beauty and the challenges of living here, I often engage with others who share a passion for discussing the realities of life in Guyana, from the struggles to the triumphs.

For me, staying connected with other Guyanese, whether here or abroad, is vital. I appreciate every comment and interaction that helps bridge our experiences, like the excitement of discovering new growth in our communities or the solemn discussions regarding the challenges we face, such as crime.
