Greetings! My name is Zainood Baksh, and I am a carpenter based in the vibrant community of Essequibo Coast, nestled along the First School Street in Pomeroon-Supenaam. I take pride in creating functional and beautiful wooden pieces that reflect the rich culture of my homeland. Guyana is a country of stunning natural beauty, from the lush rainforests to the majestic waterfalls like Kaieteur, and I strive to incorporate this essence into my craft. Growing up in Guyana, I have been deeply influenced by our diverse culture—whether it’s the tantalizing taste of pepperpot during Christmas or the rhythmic sounds of calypso and soca during our vibrant festivals. I cherish the communal spirit that defines our society, where neighbors come together to share stories and laughter, despite the challenges we face, including the social and political issues that affect us.
