Welcome! I’m Zak Robertson, a proud resident of Good Hope on the Essequibo Coast. Growing up in this vibrant community, I’ve been fortunate to experience the rich tapestry of Guyanese culture. From the mouth-watering flavors of our traditional dishes like pepperpot and metemgee to the lively celebrations during Mashramani, my upbringing has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our diverse heritage. Living near the Pomeroon River, I often find solace in its beauty, and it serves as a reminder of the lush landscapes that define our country.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections we maintain with our fellow countrymen and women, whether it be in Liberty Avenue’s Little Guyana or the various communities we’ve established around the world. It’s heartwarming to see how we come together to celebrate our roots, share our “home style” foods, and hold onto our cultural identity, no matter where life may take us.
