Welcome! I’m Zaleema Baksh, a proud resident of Bank Essequibo in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush beauty of the Pomeroon River and the vibrant life it supports has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our natural resources and cultural heritage. Whether it's savoring the rich, spicy flavors of a well-cooked pepperpot or gathering with friends to celebrate Mashramani, my heart is always rooted in the warmth of our Guyanese traditions.
Having experienced life in both my home country and the diaspora, I’m passionate about sharing the unique stories that define us as Guyanese. From the cheerful chatter at the local markets to the stunning views of our rivers and forests, I believe our culture deserves to be celebrated and shared with the world. I often reminisce about the community spirit we foster, whether it be at the annual Phagwah celebrations or simply enjoying a meal with family, echoing sentiments like those from my fellow diaspora members who fondly recall their roots.
