Hello! I'm Zebion George, a proud farmer from Manawarin Borahara in the southern region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes of our beautiful country, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the rich agricultural traditions that have been passed down through generations. From cultivating cassava to planting rice, my work not only sustains my family but also connects me to our vibrant community and the land we cherish.
Guyana is often overlooked, but I’m here to remind everyone that we’re not just a small dot on the map of South America. Our culture is a melting pot, influenced by our Indigenous roots, African heritage, and East Indian traditions. Whether it’s enjoying a plate of pepperpot during the holidays or celebrating the diverse festivals that reflect our people—like Diwali or Phagwah—there's always a reason to come together and share in the joy of our unique identity. Though I may be grounded in my local community, I always feel a strong connection to the Guyanese diaspora around the world. It’s heartwarming to see my fellow Guyanese, whether in Trinidad or elsewhere, come together to celebrate our heritage and support one another.
