Hello! I’m Abdool Azeez, an electrician based in the vibrant Coast Demerara region of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I have always been surrounded by the rich tapestry of our diverse culture, where the aroma of curry and roti fills the air, and the sounds of the market bring life to our community. As a proud Guyanese, I cherish our heritage, including our Indo-Guyanese roots, which are integral to our culinary landscape. From the flavorful pepperpot during Christmas time to the sweet, comforting taste of black cake, food holds a special place in our hearts. It brings us together to celebrate life’s moments, big and small. I often reminisce about my childhood back in Guyana while listening to the familiar sounds of our Bollywood films echoing in the background, much like many from the diaspora do, creating a bridge to our homeland no matter where we are.
