Hello! My name is Abdool Khalil, and I’m a proud laborer from the heart of Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant rivers, including the iconic Kamandankaro, my roots run deep in this beautiful land. I cherish the rich cultural diversity that defines Guyana, where the fusion of races and traditions creates a unique sense of unity and belonging. Much like my friends from the Indian diaspora, we share a kinship through our communal ties, often calling each other uncle and aunty, embodying the warmth of our close-knit society.

I often reminisce about the simple pleasures of life in Guyana—like enjoying a hearty plate of curry or sharing stories over a cup of black tea with neighbors. Though I’ve moved to the diaspora in search of better opportunities, my heart remains in Guyana. The love I have for my homeland is palpable, and I often find myself reminiscing about the beauty of our landscapes and the warmth of our people.
