Welcome! I’m Abdool Rafick, a proud farmer from the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically 27 East of Public Road in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant communities of Guyana, I’ve always been deeply connected to the land and the rich cultural heritage that defines our way of life. From a young age, I learned the importance of hard work and dedication on the farm, cultivating not just crops, but a love for the flavors that Guyana has to offer.
As a Guyanese, I take immense pride in our culinary delights—there’s nothing quite like savoring some well-made doubles or perfectly crisp aloo pie after a long day in the fields! Yes, I know the struggle of finding that perfect balance of sauce and filling, and I’m always up for a good debate about the right thickness of bara. Our food is more than just sustenance; it's a reflection of our diverse culture and the stories we share. Whether it’s at a family gathering or a community event, the kitchen is where we come together, and trust me, you won't find a cleaner kitchen than ours!
Though my roots are firmly planted here in Guyana, I cherish the connections we have with our diaspora around the world. I love hearing stories from those who’ve traveled back home to taste the flavors of our land and to share their laughter over the unique pronunciations of our river names.
