Hello! I’m Abdool Hamid, a proud farmer residing along the vibrant Shore Essequibo Coast in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up in a community that blends the richness of our culture with the beauty of our natural surroundings has been a true blessing. From the lush greenery of the rice fields to the serene banks of the Essequibo River, I draw inspiration from the land that sustains us.
As a farmer, I take great joy in cultivating crops that not only nourish my family but also connect me to the broader Guyanese community. Whether it's sharing stories over a plate of delicious curry or fried rice, I believe in the importance of preserving our culinary heritage. After all, food is an integral part of our identity, and I often invite friends and neighbors to experience traditional dishes that reflect our diverse roots—like the famous chow mein or a hearty stew.
Though I’m rooted in Guyana, I embrace the diaspora connections that allow me to share our culture with the world. I appreciate every message I receive about our beloved homeland, whether it’s a memory of Bartica or a call for more to be shared about our neighboring countries like Suriname.
