Hello! My name is Aleema Abrams, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home, specifically the Henrietta Housing area in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up near the serene waters of the Pomeroon River, I have deep roots in the rich cultural landscape of Guyana, where the vibrant sounds of calypso and soca music fill the air. As a resident here, I treasure our local delicacies like pepperpot and metemgee, which bring family and friends together, especially during our lively celebrations and festivals.
My journey has been shaped by the warmth of our tight-knit community, where stories of our ancestors and the legacy of our British colonial past continue to resonate.
