Greetings! My name is Alexia Patterson, and I proudly call the vibrant community of 01 Suddie Housing in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region my home. Guyana's rich culture is woven into my daily life, from the sweet aroma of cook-up rice and the spicy heat of pepperpot to the soothing sounds of the Pomeroon River flowing nearby. Each day I embrace the beauty of my surroundings, whether it’s taking a leisurely boat ride along the Lower Pom River or sharing stories with friends about the best fishing spots at Waramuri Island.
Living in this fertile area blessed by nature, I draw inspiration from the lush greenery and warm-hearted neighbors who embody the spirit of our Guyanese heritage. I actively participate in local events and community gatherings, where we celebrate our diverse traditions and enjoy delicious local dishes, including the ever-popular metemgee and fresh fish from the river. I believe that maintaining strong connections with one another and our roots is vital, especially for those of us who are part of the diaspora.
