Hello! I’m Alicia Estriado, a dedicated health worker based in the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically at 1 Side Line Dam in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage that my country is known for. From the vibrant sounds of steelpan music during Mashramani to the delightful aroma of cook-up rice wafting through the air, my heart is firmly rooted in the rhythms of our local life.
As a health worker, I strive to improve the well-being of my community through compassionate care and education. Whether I’m helping a family navigate healthcare services or organizing health fairs, my goal is to make a positive impact in the lives of those around me. I often reminisce about my childhood adventures along the Pomeroon River and the warmth of our community gatherings, where laughter and stories are shared over a plate of pepperpot and cassava bread.
Being a part of the Guyanese diaspora means carrying the spirit of our culture wherever I go. I cherish the connections I’ve made with fellow Guyanese, both at home and abroad.
