About ALICIA ELEMIKA GRANT

About Alicia Grant

Greetings! My name is Alicia Grant, and I proudly call Demerara 7 L'Oratoire Canal No.1 my home. Growing up in the vibrant heart of Guyana, I've been deeply influenced by our rich culture, from the delectable flavors of pepperpot and metemgee to the lively rhythms of our folk music. I believe that the essence of our beautiful country can be found not just in our culinary delights but also in the warmth and resilience of our people. Whether it's gathering with family at the Pomeroon River or engaging with friends at the local markets, I cherish every moment spent in this beautiful land.

As a resident of the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara, I am constantly inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds us—lush landscapes, flowing rivers, and the strong sense of community that binds us together. My experiences have instilled in me a passion for sharing the stories of Guyana with the world, especially through the lens of our diaspora. I love connecting with fellow Guyanese abroad, as I know firsthand the pride we share for our homeland, whether it’s discussing the latest happenings in our neighborhoods or reminiscing about our beloved local dishes.

I invite you to join me on this journey to showcase the real Guyana—our triumphs, our challenges, and the everyday magic that makes this place so special. Let’s celebrate our shared heritage and continue to uplift each other, whether we’re from the bustling streets of Georgetown or the tranquil corners of our countryside. Together, we can bring more light to the beauty and authenticity of Guyana, one story at a time.
