Hello! I’m Alina Dilchand, a proud resident of Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Nestled along the lush banks of the Pomeroon River, my home is a vibrant blend of diverse cultures, rich histories, and warm, welcoming communities. Whether I’m enjoying a hearty meal of pepperpot or sharing stories over a cup of freshly brewed Guyanese coffee, I cherish the strong connections we have here, both with our beautiful land and our diaspora that spans the globe.
Living in Pomeroon, I am constantly inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds us, from the serene waters of the Lower Pom River to the bustling life along the Hackney Canal. Each corner of our community holds a piece of our history and tradition, and I take pride in participating in local initiatives like the Lower Pom River Friendship Scheme, which brings us closer and supports our shared aspirations.
