Hello! My name is Andel Holmes, and I proudly call Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As someone who has grown up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant cultures of this beautiful country, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich heritage. From the sweet aroma of pepperpot during Christmas time to the joyful sounds of a tassa band at local celebrations, each element of our culture tells a story that connects us to our roots and to one another.
Living in Pomeroon, I am surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pomeroon River, which serves as a lifeline for our community. My work involves engaging with locals and fostering connections within the diaspora, a community that plays a crucial role in preserving our culture while embracing new experiences abroad.
