Hi, I’m Andrew Jacobs, a dedicated labourer hailing from the vibrant community of Uniform Leguan, nestled in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and rich waterways of our land, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for the beauty and simplicity of our culture. Whether it’s enjoying a hearty plate of pepperpot during the holidays or sharing stories with friends at the local rum shop, my roots run deep in the traditions that make Guyana unique.
My work as a labourer allows me to contribute to my community's growth, and I take pride in the skills I’ve developed over the years. Whether it's working on local farms or helping to build homes, every task is a piece of my commitment to our people. I often reminisce about my childhood adventures along the Pomeroon River, where I learned the importance of community and hard work. Many of us share these memories, and they keep our spirit alive, even as some of us find ourselves in the diaspora.
While I may be based in Guyana, I cherish the connections we share, both near and far. I often hear from friends in the U.S. and Canada, reminiscing about our beloved landmarks like St. Monica and the beautiful manatees that glide through our waters. Together, we strive for a brighter future for the next generation, hoping they will enjoy all that Guyana has to offer while building on the foundation we’ve laid. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
