Hello! My name is Andron Fredericks, and I proudly call Pomeroon River in Upper Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Growing up nestled in the lush landscapes of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture, which is a beautiful blend of traditions from our Indigenous peoples, African heritage, and influences from our colonial past. I’m often reminded of how Georgetown is known as the "Garden City of the Caribbean," and I believe it's our lush greenery and rich biodiversity that make our homeland stand out. It's a common sentiment among us Guyanese that, despite being largely unknown to many in the rest of South America, our identity is deeply rooted in our Caribbean connections and our unique heritage.

I often hear my fellow Guyanese reminiscing about their grandparents’ tales and the fusion of flavors that mark our culinary identity.
