Hello! My name is Andy Gobin, and I proudly call Wakenaam, in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, my home. As a fisherman, I spend my days embracing the rhythms of the Essequibo River, where the waters are teeming with life. The fishing traditions here run deep, and I cherish the practice of sharing my catch with family and friends, often culminating in a hearty meal of steamed fish and rice, complemented by spicy pepper sauce—an essential part of our local cuisine.
Growing up in a multicultural society, I've been fortunate to experience the rich blend of influences that shape Guyanese culture. From the aroma of cook-up rice wafting through the air during Mashramani celebrations to the vibrant sounds of steelpan music echoing during the Independence Day festivities, each moment is a reminder of our unique heritage. My roots run deep in this land, and even as I connect with fellow Guyanese in the diaspora, I carry the spirit of our one people, one nation, one destiny, wherever I go.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
