Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Anil Kissoon, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast home. Nestled in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I am a farmer dedicated to nurturing the land and growing the rich, vibrant produce that Guyana is known for. From the lush rice fields to the aromatic spices that fill our kitchens, every harvest is a labor of love that connects me deeply to my roots and the community around me.
As we stand on the brink of transformation, with Guyana poised to become a skyline country akin to Dubai, I feel a sense of excitement for our future. Yet, despite the changes, I cherish the simple joys of life here—like sharing a plate of pepperpot with family and friends during the holidays or taking a tranquil boat ride along the Essequibo River. These cherished moments remind me of the strength and warmth of our culture, even as many of us, like myself, have family abroad in places like London and Germany.
Though I may be a farmer at heart, my connection to the Guyanese diaspora fuels my passion for our traditions and stories. I hope to bridge the gap between home and away, sharing the beauty of our land and the richness of our culture with all who wish to learn about the spirit of Guyana. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
