Greetings! I’m Anisa Bissoon, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, where the vibrant heart of Guyana beats in rhythm with the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Nestled along the 142 Public Road in Hampton, I draw inspiration from the natural beauty surrounding me, as well as the warm, welcoming spirit of the community. Growing up near the Pomeroon River, I cherish the tales of my ancestors and the traditions that continue to thrive, from the delicious flavors of pepperpot and metemgee to the enthusiastic festivities of our local holidays.
Living in this beautiful region has given me a profound appreciation for our diverse culture. Whether it’s enjoying a day at the St. Monica Mission or relaxing under the shade of the magnificent trees lining the coast, I have always felt a deep connection to both my roots and my fellow Guyanese. I also love hearing stories from our diaspora, who have taken pieces of Guyana around the world, sharing our culinary delights and unique experiences, like those of travelers who’ve found joy and hospitality in our homeland.
