Welcome! My name is Anjali Persaud, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast home, specifically the vibrant community of Henrietta Housing in Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a salesgirl, I cherish the opportunity to connect with people from all walks of life, whether they are locals or part of the Guyanese diaspora spread across Canada, the U.S., and beyond. There’s something truly special about the warmth of our people and the stories we share, especially over a plate of duck curry—one of my all-time favorites!
Living in a country rich with culture and natural beauty, I often find joy in the simple things: from savoring roti with chicken or beef to enjoying a beautiful sunset along the Essequibo River. It’s these experiences that bring us together, whether through food, laughter, or even a good-natured debate about what we call “balangae” versus “eggplant” (I stand by balangae, of course!). These little details are what make us uniquely Guyanese, and I love sharing that passion with others.
