Greetings! My name is Derick Persaud, and I am proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I find inspiration in the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage that Guyana has to offer. As a dedicated teacher, I strive to impart knowledge and foster a love for learning among my students, while also encouraging them to cherish our local customs and history.
Growing up in this beautiful country, I have developed a deep appreciation for our culinary delights, from the mouth-watering pepperpot to the sweet indulgence of cassava pone. I firmly believe that sharing these experiences helps us connect with each other, whether we are in Guyana or part of the diaspora. I often reminisce about the lively conversations held over a plate of cook-up rice, or the laughter shared while participating in local festivities like Mashramani, celebrating our diverse heritage.
