Hello! I’m Anjanie Lall, a proud resident of La Belle, nestled along the picturesque Coast 35 Public Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this vibrant community, I have come to cherish the rich blend of cultures that make Guyana unique, from our mouthwatering pepperpot to the lively sounds of chutney music that often fill the air during celebrations. The stunning landscapes, especially along the Pomeroon River, remind me daily of the beauty we are blessed with in our homeland.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I feel a deep connection to our roots, even when I venture beyond our borders. Conversations with fellow Guyanese often spark nostalgia, whether it's discussing the best spots for kite flying during Easter or sharing stories from our childhood gatherings. There's something special about being able to connect with others who share that “16%” of our culture, whether it’s through our diverse names like Tiana or Annaleicia or our shared experiences growing up in neighborhoods like Kabakaburi and Grant Paradise.
Through my work and community involvement, I aim to promote and celebrate the rich heritage of our people. I believe in the power of storytelling and connection, whether it’s sharing a recipe for my favorite Guyanese dishes or exploring the local landmarks that define our identity. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
