About ANMARIE RUTH NORTON

About Anmarie Norton

Greetings! My name is Anmarie Norton, and I’m proud to call Regina Essequibo Coast, specifically the tranquil Cotton Field area of Pomeroon-Supenaam, my home. Growing up amidst the vibrant landscapes of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture, from the lush greenery of the Essequibo River to the aromatic delights of our cuisine. One of my fondest childhood memories is relishing my mother’s famous pepper pot—a dish that perfectly encapsulates the warmth and hospitality of our people.

As a resident of Guyana, I believe in the importance of community and standing up for our nation's integrity. Just as many of my fellow Guyanese have voiced their concerns over territorial sovereignty, I share in that sentiment, proudly affirming that the Essequibo belongs to the Cooperative Republic of Guyana. I often find strength and inspiration in our diaspora community, who continue to celebrate our homeland’s heritage, from our traditional festivals to our unique culinary flavors.

In my everyday life, I enjoy connecting with others who share my passion for promoting our beautiful country. Whether it’s through social media or local events, I strive to foster a sense of togetherness, encouraging initiatives that reflect our commitment to preserving the environment and enhancing our community. Let’s celebrate what makes Guyana special and strengthen the bonds that unite us, no matter where we are in the world!
