Hello! My name is Ann Stephney, and I proudly call Essequibo my home. Nestled along the historic 201 Old Road in Parika East, Pomeroon-Supenaam, I embrace the rich cultural heritage that defines Guyana. From the vibrant sounds of chutney music to the irresistible aroma of pepperpot cooking during the holidays, my life is deeply intertwined with the traditions and flavors of our beautiful nation.
As a resident of Essequibo, I have a deep appreciation for our stunning landscapes, from the serene rivers to the lush greenery. Whether Iām enjoying a day at the Essequibo River or indulging in local delicacies like metemgee and cook-up rice, I find joy in sharing these experiences with both locals and members of the diaspora. I often find myself laughing at the unique ways we pronounce our place names, just like many of my fellow Guyanese do when we watch videos about our homeland!

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
