Hello! Iām Anna Campbell, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast Extension Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the lush green landscapes meet the gentle flow of the Pomeroon River. Growing up in a culturally rich environment, I've had the pleasure of experiencing our diverse heritage, where every gathering is filled with the aroma of pepperpot and the sweet taste of metemgee. Whether it's a Sunday cook-up or a family gathering, food is a central part of our lives and a symbol of our unity as Guyanese.
As someone who identifies as Caribbean and West Indian, I cherish our mixed heritage and the vibrant traditions that come with it. From the breathtaking Kaieteur Falls, which we affectionately pronounce "kai-chore," to the warm and friendly spirit of our people, Guyana is truly a special place. I often connect with fellow Guyanese in the diaspora, sharing stories and memories, and I feel a strong bond with those who, like me, carry a piece of Guyana in their hearts, even if they are miles away.
