Greetings! My name is Annecia Hudson, and I proudly call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region home. Living in Lower Pom River Grant, also known as the Land of Promise, I draw inspiration from the vibrant culture and rich heritage that defines our nation. Guyana is a place where the lush green landscapes meet the warm smiles of its people, and it fills my heart with joy to be part of such a dynamic community. From the colorful markets bustling with fresh produce to the serene banks of the Pomeroon River, every corner of our land tells a story.
As a housewife, I cherish the time spent cooking traditional dishes that reflect our diverse ancestry, including the delicious flavors of our Indian influence, particularly in the famous LaLah curry that many of us proudly prepare. I believe that food is a powerful connector, bringing families and friends together, and there’s nothing quite like sharing a meal of pepperpot or cook-up rice with loved ones. Our culture, steeped in history and tradition, is further enriched by our diaspora, reminding us of the global bond we share as Guyanese, no matter where we are.
While our nation faces challenges, including issues of corruption and environmental concerns, I remain optimistic about its future, especially with the promise of growth through our natural resources.
