Greetings! I am Edric Hudson, a proud farmer based in Lower Pomeroon, River Grant, Victoria Land, right in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. My life revolves around the rich, fertile lands of Guyana, where I cultivate a variety of crops that reflect our vibrant agricultural heritage. From cassava to rice, the connection to the land is deeply woven into the fabric of our daily lives. Just like the iconic Essequibo River that runs through our region, my work flows with the traditions of my ancestors, ensuring that future generations can also thrive from this bountiful earth.
Growing up in Guyana, I am reminded daily of the warmth and resilience of our people. Whether it’s enjoying a comforting bowl of cook-up rice or a sweet treat of guava cheese, our local cuisine holds a special place in my heart, bringing families together. I cherish the stories passed down about the Danish West Indian Company and our diverse heritage, which includes influences from the Indigenous peoples, Africans, East Indians, and Europeans. Each culture has left an indelible mark on our community, making it as rich and colorful as the festivals we celebrate, like Mashramani and Phagwah.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I value the connections I have with fellow Guyanese around the world. It’s heartwarming to see others share their love for our homeland, whether it's through discussions about River Waipaqua Settlement or simply expressing pride with a 🇬🇾. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
