Hello! My name is Anthony Rajkumar, and I proudly call the lush landscapes of Essequibo in Guyana my home. As a fisherman, I spend my days on the beautiful Pomeroon River, surrounded by the rich biodiversity that our region is known for. There’s something special about savoring fresh catch seasoned with local spices, often paired with rice and beans—a true Guyanese delicacy that warms the heart.
Growing up in a close-knit community, I’ve experienced the vibrant culture and traditions that make Guyana unique. From the lively sounds of local music to the colorful festivals celebrating our diverse heritage, every moment is a reminder of our roots. I often reminisce about the days spent at the Upper Pomeroon, where the river meets the land—a place that holds countless memories for many of us. As many in the diaspora will attest, the connection we share with our homeland is everlasting, and I always look forward to welcoming friends and family back home to explore our beautiful sites, like the new bridge that connects us more directly to each other.
