Greetings! I’m Anthony Edwards, a proud farmer from the serene River Mora Settlement in Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. Growing up, the streets of my village were filled with the tantalizing aromas of local street food—bake and shark, pepper pot, and the unmistakable taste of our spicy hot sauces that bring our meals to life. I fondly remember evenings spent enjoying these delicacies with friends and family, where laughter and stories flowed as freely as the Guyanese rum. This bond with food not only nourishes our bodies but also strengthens our community ties, reminding us of the importance of togetherness in a rapidly changing world.
Though I now cultivate my dreams amidst the vibrant farmlands, I carry with me the spirit of our ancestors. For those of us in the diaspora, the bittersweet longing for home is ever-present, as we navigate life afar.
