Hello! My name is Arand Peters, and I proudly call the vibrant community of Coast 192 Sand Reef Mocha in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region my home. As a miner, I spend my days working hard to contribute to the rich resources that our beautiful country offers. Guyana, though not an island, is a unique blend of cultures and traditions, and I carry that spirit with me in everything I do.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been surrounded by the tantalizing aroma of curry, the sweet allure of pepperpot, and the warmth of a community that feels like family. I cherish the laughter shared over a plate of cook-up rice and the stories exchanged at the riverbanks of the Pomeroon. Landmarks like the majestic Kaieteur Falls and the lush rainforests remind me of our country’s breathtaking beauty, and I take pride in sharing these experiences with friends near and far, especially those in the diaspora who often reminisce about our homeland.
It’s amazing to see Guyanese like Letitia Wright making waves on the global stage, reminding us all of the talent that emerges from our shores. Whether it’s discussing our history, sharing cultural nuances, or even correcting the mispronunciations of our names, I carry the essence of Guyana with pride.
