Hello! Iām Aston Gould, a proud carpenter hailing from the vibrant East Bank Essequibo community in Tushen, Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in the lush landscapes of Guyana, where the rich culture and hearty traditions have molded my craft and character. Whether Iām building a new home or restoring a beloved structure, I pour my heart into every piece of wood, inspired by the values of hard work and resilience that have been passed down through generations.
Growing up, I was surrounded by the diverse flavors of Guyanese cuisine, from the savory fried shark to the beloved red cake that sweetens our gatherings. I fondly remember family occasions filled with laughter and delicious food, where my aunt's famous recipes brought us together. Living in the diaspora has allowed me to share these culinary treasures with others, creating connections that transcend borders. Even while creating a piece of furniture, I often think of the sweet scents of the Pomeroon River and the communal spirit of Bombay Settlement.
As I continue to craft my way through life, my heart remains rooted in Guyana. The warmth of my community, whether in person or through the stories shared by fellow Guyanese abroad, fuels my passion for both my work and my heritage.
