Hello! My name is Aultia Thompson, and I’m proud to call Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region my home. Surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River, I cherish the daily rhythms of life here—from the vibrant markets bustling with fresh produce and local delicacies like pepperpot and cassava pone to the serene sunsets that paint our skies. Growing up in this vibrant community has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our culture, which is a blend of Indigenous, African, East Indian, and European influences.
As a resident of this beautiful area, I am passionate about staying connected with the Guyanese diaspora. I understand the importance of our shared experiences, whether it’s bonding over a plate of roti and curry or reminiscing about our childhood adventures in Georgetown—often affectionately referred to as "Jarj Town" by some of us.
