Greetings! My name is Avice Benjamin, and I am a dedicated teacher residing in the community of Essequibo 3 Mora on the East Bank of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amidst the lush greenery and vibrant culture of Guyana, I have always been inspired by the resilience and creativity of our people. From the bustling markets of Georgetown to the serene banks of the Essequibo River, my experiences have shaped my passion for education and community development.
In my teaching, I strive to instill a sense of pride and understanding of our rich heritage—be it through the rhythmic sounds of traditional music or the tantalizing flavors of our beloved dishes like pepperpot and metemgee. I believe that education is not just about academics; it’s about connecting our children to their roots and empowering them to be the change-makers of tomorrow. As we stand on the brink of a new era with the burgeoning oil industry, I see a tremendous opportunity for growth and unity within our communities.
