Hello! I’m Avinash Gobin, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. My life here is deeply rooted in the vibrant cultures that shape our beautiful land. Surrounded by the lush greens of our tropical landscape, I find joy in the simple pleasures of Guyanese life—whether it’s sharing a plate of pepperpot on Christmas morning or savoring a bowl of chow mein, a local delicacy with a unique twist that reflects our diverse heritage. As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the challenges many face due to immigration policies and the longing for connection back home. Five Guianas exist when we consider the cultural imprints of our neighbors—Venezuela and Brazil—making our identity a shared experience that transcends borders.
