Hello! My name is Gloria Gobin, and I proudly call Demerara my home. Growing up surrounded by the delicious aroma of curry chicken and the lively rhythm of local music, I cherish the warmth of our traditions. Whether it’s celebrating Mashramani with friends or enjoying the annual Phagwah festival, I find joy in connecting with my community. As someone who has also experienced life in the diaspora, I understand the importance of staying connected with our heritage. I often share stories about the beauty of Guyana, including the serene Potaro River and the majestic Kaieteur Falls, reminding my students of the unique treasures our homeland has to offer.
