Hello! My name is Roddy Baird, and I proudly call Baramita, in the beautiful Barima-Waini region, my home. As an operator, I spend my days immersed in the rich natural resources of Guyana, surrounded by the lush rainforests and vibrant wildlife that make our country so unique. Growing up near the Pomeroon River, I've always felt a deep connection to the land and its people, from the warm smiles of my neighbors in Hoobodie Settlement to the bustling markets where we share meals of pepperpot and metemgee.
Being part of the Guyanese diaspora is important to me, as it allows me to share our culture and stories with the world. I love connecting with others who have roots in Guyana, whether it's through reminiscing about the sweet taste of fresh vanilla from Pom River Grant or discussing our shared heritage as Ameri-Indian descendants. In my free time, you can find me exploring the hidden gems of Baramita, from the breathtaking Calistro Bay to the serene flows of the Upper Pom River.
