Hello! My name is Baldeo Sookram, and I proudly call Essequibo, specifically the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region, my home. As a dedicated rice farmer, I am deeply rooted in the agricultural traditions that have sustained our community for generations. The rich, fertile lands of Guyana have shaped not only my profession but also my identity, allowing me to contribute to the country's ever-growing reputation as a key player in the global rice market.
Growing up in this beautiful region, I've had the privilege of enjoying the delicious flavors of Guyanese cuisine, from the aromatic pepperpot to the sweet, spicy delights of our local black cake. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
