Greetings! My name is Bibi Saleem, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home, specifically from the vibrant community of Pomona Housing in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich biodiversity of Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our natural beauty, from the majestic rivers to the serene coastlines. Whether it's taking a leisurely boat ride along the Essequibo River or indulging in a plate of pepperpot during the holidays, the essence of my culture is woven into my everyday life.
As a resident of this beautiful region, I cherish the connections I have with my neighbors and the wider diaspora community. We share stories, laughter, and the occasional plate of cook-up rice, fostering bonds that transcend borders. I take pride in our local traditions, from celebrating Mashramani with vibrant parades to enjoying the delicious fruits of our labor during the rice harvest.
