Hello! I’m Bibi Rahama, a proud resident of Pom River Friendship Backlands in the lush Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the vibrant culture and rich biodiversity of my homeland has deeply influenced who I am today. From the sweet aroma of cook-up rice wafting through the air to the lively sounds of our local festivals, I cherish the unique experiences that define our Guyanese identity.
In my community, I've witnessed the amazing blend of cultures that make Guyana so special. Our rich heritage is reflected in everything from our diverse culinary delights—think pepperpot and metemgee—to the colorful celebrations that unite us, whether it's Mashramani or Phagwah. Even though many of us have ventured abroad, the bonds we share remain strong, reminding us of our roots and our shared experiences.
