Hello! I’m Bibi Khan, a proud resident of Essequibo, specifically on 8 Bud Street in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region. My roots run deep in this vibrant community, where the lush greenery meets the winding rivers, and the warmth of the people shines through in every interaction. Living here has cultivated in me a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage, from the lively celebrations during Phagwah to the serene moments spent on River Boradaro Island.
As someone who enjoys sharing the flavors of my homeland, I often find myself reminiscing about the delicious dishes like duck curry and the ever-popular roti (which is pronounced "raw tee," just so we’re clear!). Food brings us together, whether it’s a simple meal at home or a big gathering with friends and family, and I believe it’s one of the best ways to experience the heart of Guyanese culture. I love connecting with the diaspora, where stories of our beloved Karawab and Upper Pomeroon River spark nostalgia and pride among us.
