Welcome to my little corner of the world! My name is Bibi Ali, and I reside in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, specifically on Coast Demerara, at 112 Third Street East. Growing up in this lush, vibrant landscape has instilled in me a deep love for our nation's rich cultural heritage, from the rhythmic beats of our music to the delightful aromas wafting from our traditional kitchens. There's nothing quite like a plate of curry duck or some pepperpot to remind me of home!
As a proud Guyanese, I cherish our history and the stories that shape our identity. Did you know that 'Guyana' comes from the Amerindian word meaning "the land of many waters"? It's a name that perfectly captures the essence of our country, with its stunning rivers and rainforests. My heart swells with pride when I think of our remarkable achievements, from the legendary West Indies cricket team, which has roots in British Guiana, to the notable contributions of academic figures like Dr. Mohammed Shahabedeen.
