Greetings! I’m Hydar Ali, a proud Guyanese currently working as a labourer in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region. My roots run deep in this vibrant country, where the majestic Essequibo River flows and the warmth of our people is as inviting as a good plate of dpot on mate. Growing up here, I've developed a profound appreciation for our rich culture, whether it's the rhythm of our music, the flavors of our culinary delights, or the stunning landscapes that reflect the heart and soul of Guyana.
Having spent much of my life in Georgetown, I’ve witnessed the challenges our country faces, echoed by many in the diaspora who feel a mix of pride and frustration about our homeland. I relate to the sentiments expressed by friends who wish our leadership could do more to showcase the beauty and potential of Guyana. As we embrace new opportunities, especially with the recent recognition of our oil resources, I am hopeful that we can put our house in order and invite the world to experience our natural wonders beyond the ghetto. From the lush greenery of the Lower Pom River to the rich heritage of our communities, there’s so much to celebrate.
