Hello! I’m Bibi Sookram, a proud resident of East Bank Essequibo in the charming Parika Backdam area of Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this vibrant community, where the rhythms of rural life are punctuated by the lush landscapes and the gentle flow of the Pomeroon River. Growing up amidst the warmth of our local culture, I have always cherished the simple joys of life, from fishing in the river to sharing stories with neighbors under the stars.
Food is a central part of my life and a reflection of our rich Guyanese heritage. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a hearty plate of curry, perhaps a curried goat with hot paratha or dhal and rice, often made with love by the grandmothers in our community. I take pride in celebrating our local delicacies and hope to share these flavors with anyone visiting our beautiful land.
