Greetings! My name is Bonita Lewis, and I proudly call Wakenaam e Maria's Pleasure in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a resident of this beautiful land, I am deeply connected to our rich cultural heritage, which is reflected in our local cuisine, lively festivals, and the warm hospitality of our people. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve witnessed the resilience and spirit of our communities, especially during moments of change, like the recent strides towards free and fair elections. I cherish the memories associated with our traditional songs that echo the heart of our nation, stirring nostalgia and pride. Although many of our citizens have ventured into the diaspora, they carry with them the tales of our land, from the scenic beauty of the Pomeroon River to the culinary delights found in every home. We may be scattered, but our hearts remain intertwined with the soil of Guyana.
