Hello! My name is Bryan Persaud, and I proudly call Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Growing up in this region, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich heritage, vibrant communities, and the beauty of our landscapes. As a resident of 27 Main Street Housing, I find joy in connecting with my neighbors and sharing traditions, especially around food. Nothing brings people together like a good plate of pepperpot or some freshly baked Guyanese bread. I still remember the advice of friends: “You was supposed to break a piece of the bred off and dip it in the meat,” and that’s a practice I hold dear during family gatherings. Our shared experiences and culinary delights reflect the bond we have as a community, both here and in the diaspora.
Beyond the local flavor, I cherish the connections with my fellow Guyanese around the world. Whether reminiscing about our beautiful country or discussing the latest series that celebrate our culture, I feel a strong sense of belonging among those who share my roots. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
